With a background in brand marketing, Steve came to focus solely on the web space from 2003 with responsibility for growing the online channel for Tourism Holdings Ltd (THL), New Zealand’s premier tourism company. Over the past three years Steve has led a project to move the majority of THL's 40 B2C & B2B websites from basic brochure-ware to fully integrated e-commerce websites, providing customers with the ability to plan and book their holiday experiences real-time. Steve and his team are driven to deliver a quality user experience for their customers and an equally strong ROI for the business. THL work with a number of search marketing suppliers and are committed to both organic optimisation and paid search placement to maintain a competitive advantage. The online travel space is continuously changing and is often at the forefront of new online trends particularly in the use of social media applications and consumer’s willingness to transact fully online, so the business is seeking continuous improvement in this channel. Steve and his team will soon focus on a major new programme of work consolidating all of THL’s sites onto one platform with a key deliverables being an improved usability both in functionality and design plus increased speed to market. |
