Microsoft adCenter in Oz By Year End?
MICROSOFT is hopeful that it will launch adCenter in the Australian market through ninemsn by the end of this year. Business Strategy Manager Harvey Sanchez said Australia is a “top five” international market priority for Microsoft.
“adCenter will hopefully be launched in Australia by the end of 2007,” Sanchez said. He added that the paid search advertising platform is now being modified for the Australian market.
“We are doing a lot of localisation work to ensure the results both for live.com and adCenter have increased relevance for Australian searches,” Sanchez said.
“We have made major leaps in relevance and speed for the Australian market since last September.
“We still have a lot of work to do but are getting there.”
Sanchez indicated that Microsoft would begin to more aggressively market its web-based offerings such as search.
He said Enterprise Search is a major priority for Microsoft through its SharePoint product, the focus of an international conference being held in Sydney May 15 and 16.
Ninemsn currently uses Yahoo! Search Marketing to provide it paid search facility.
