Buying Cars The Old Way
|
Sensis has just launched a beta version of a car search site called Carshowroom.com.au that allows consumers to compare the models and prices of brand new vehicles.
It will leave used car consumer searches to sister company Trading Post. with Sensis Automotive Category Manager Tony Hatton telling The Australian that Carshowroom.com.au is the only site specializing in new cars.
“New and used-car buyers have totally different requirements – 70% of new car buyers start their search online,” Mr Hatton said.
The site, which has been up a week, will be formally launched by next March.
Marketing is expected to start in January.
While Mr Hatton told The Australian that Carshowroom.com.au will feature its own content, all reveiews and chat rooms are currently linking to back to Trading Post.
Other major car search sites include Drive.com.au, Carsguide.com.au and Carsales.com.au.
