The Money-Making Machine

Google is a money-making machine that currently clears almost US$11 million every day after costs and allowing for tax.

It’s also got cash on hand of more than US$13 billion.

These phenomenal profits are being driven by increased demand – and therefore prices – for its advertising programs, AdWords and Ad Sense, all around the world.

The level of growth is astonishing.

Net income for the September quarter was up 45% over the previous year to US$1.07 billion, while total number of paid ad clicks was up by a similar amount.

Staffing figures are also over the top.

Another 2130 people joined Google up to September 30. The company’s total head count is now 15,916 employees.

And all of them are busy, particularly when it comes to managing internal demands.
