Parsons Leaves Sensis For ninemsn - Pridmore Lands In Hot Seat

Alex Parsons resigned his job as Group Manager, Sensis.com.au, last Monday to take up the newly-created position Head of Search at ninemsn.

Parsons is taking three months "gardening leave" before starting with ninemsn in late February.

In other developments, Judy Pridmore has replaced Donald McBain as General Manager of truelocal.com.au at News Digital Media.

McBain had been in the job for just over six months and recently resigned to pursue other interests.

Pridmore moves into the hot seat from the General Manager role at Career One.

Meanwhile, there is increasing industry speculation that ninemsn will place a greater emphasis on developing a cohesive search strategy.

The appointment of Parsons is one clue – aligned with the successful launch of Microsoft adCentre in the United States.

The question is whether or not ninemsn will launch adCentre in the Australian market.

Ninemsn, which already deploys Windows Live for organic search, has used Yahoo! Search Marketing for its paid listings since 2004.

This agreement was recently renewed but no timeframe included in the October 31 announcement.
