Lookle Discovers No Charity In Business

AUSSIE search engine Lookle.com is shutting down it patented donation system due to high overheads and low advertising income. In an email to users, Lookle management said it could no longer afford the technical expenses required to keep the donation system “100% accurate”. The email said there had been “minimal growth in the number of core users actually performing searches” over the past 18 months.

“We suspect this is due to the sheer dominance and extra features of other search engines,” the email said. “We would sincerely like to thank those users that were dedicated and loyal to the Donations System, and advise that those charities eligible to receive amounts raised will certainly be paid.” Lookle.com will continue to operate with search powered by Yahoo!
